"Raxon would be right"
If the attack kills Phaedrus then Adin would easily be able to wear his skin and continue with the rest of them

"It's not hypocritical when I do it."
"It may be unfair to rob these farmers, but we REALLY need more adventurers around. Sorry."

"We need to let this guy kill an adventurer, since it wouldn't be a fair duel otherwise. If you try to stop us, we'll have to kill you too, adventurers."

"Meteor Knight"
All this reminds me of the time that we had been tasked with finding a wife for the Ogre King. I was playing a lawful good psion (Pathfinder) at the time in a party with distinctively evil leaning. Our fighter walked up to a young woman and attempted to kidnap her for the ogre. I, of course, stepped in to stop him. Now I was doing my best to deal only non-lethal damage because our party had been forced to work together, and I was losing the fight. Then the woman steps in. Turns out she was an epic paladin and did not need any help handling our fifth level fighter. Why this duel reminds me of that, I do not know.

"He's not going to kill him"
Just almost kill him.

Or, he'll miss. That seems to happen a lot.

if this paladin is a brillant minmaxer- his gunsligner level would have the mysterious stranger archetype... or he could have just have a gun. (because a normal Paladin/gunsligner would be very bad combo.
