a -4 to hit an AC of 15 means you'd have to roll a 7 to hit him instead of a 3... woooo

That's the difference between an 85% chance to hit and a 65% chance to hit. That's pretty significant.

That doesn't justify potentially killing your "friend", though.

Oh, right. I forgot we were doing these on Sunday, too. And what do you mean "on the path" to lawful evil?

He was trying to evict destitute farmers in order to install state run farms, because the farmers couldn't afford to hand out gold and magic items as a reward day after day.

Well, he was standing in rather near a Paladin who was using detect evil not long ago.

Contrary to popular belief, lead is horrible at blocking Detect Evil. Now, aluminum foil on the other hand, that's a different story... :p
