iirc clerics r either lawful good or lawful evil?

and barbarians cannot be lawful?
Malroth 19th Aug 2014, 1:26 AM edit delete reply

Clerics must be within 1 alignment step of their god so as long as their god isn't Lawful Neutral then cleric/barbarian is possible but almost universally less powerful than Cleric/cleric

Clearly you've never encountered a cleric of Crom. His domains are war, destruction, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

You forgot that cheesy one liners are an at will free action with unlimited uses are a Schwarzenegger domain perk, too.

Yeah... I had a half-orc cleric to a Lawful/Good deity but was Neutral/Good myself, allowing me to multi-class to Barbarian. Later I shifted to Lawful/Good and became a paladin; needless to say I wasn't too worried about build optimization as IIRC I lost the ability to Rage but kept a decent number of other traits (this was back in 3e).

"Taking notes"
On the subject of taking notes, I was in a game where our cleric had a key to a pocket dimension where we usually slept and kept our loot. Once we reached lv 11 we were defending a holy city from a undead army led by an avatar of some evil undead loving god and he ended up getting cou de gra'd by a vampire and threw a hissy fit and wouldn't let us rez him so we could get our massive pile of loot back ( we had like 7 digits of gold). luckily enough, our Party accountant (the rogue) was skimming the top 10% of our gold because no one payed attention after fights during looting. the moral of this story
is don't keep ALL your money in a pocket dimension and don't let the rogue be the accountant.

...you couldn't loot the key off his corpse? I assume you had the corpse, if you were able to attempt a resurrection.
